Kyana Emmot

Kyana Emmot a California girl, in love with a Bollywood world. Five years ago, wanting a little break from the Industry Kyana found herself living on the beaches of Mozambique, Africa. Where she made her living by cutting hair off her front porch in her little African brick house. While in Africa, she made a friend from Hyderabad, and eventually made her first trip out to India a year later. Kyana found herself loving the “Indian village life” sleeping in mud huts in the state of Andhra and eating warm chapati’s fresh off the fire. After being introduced to the famous “Hyderbadi Biriyani” and being inspired by Indian culture she realised India needed to be her new home. Later Kyana moved to Bombay and started travelling back forth between California and Bombay with freelance hair and make up work; however as of July 2016, she is represented by Toabh Management. Kyana was introduced to the world of hair and makeup through being a theatre actress. Since the age of 13 Kyana travelled across the U.S. performing in drama showcases. She won the “California Junior Thespian Award” where she had the opportunity to perform her winning monologue in front of Arnold Schwarzenegger! She created all her looks for her characters, and got used to putting on the makeup required for it to be seen under the stage lights. This is where she fell in love with the transformation of makeup. During Kyana’s grade school studies, she studied art, theatre, and photography; then upon graduation she went to the Vidal Sassoon school of Cosmetology near San Francisco, Ca. There she was formally trained in hair colouring, cutting, makeup, and skin care. In 2008, she became a licensed cosmetologist and started working as a hair stylist. She assisted under one of California’s top hair colourists, and furthered her makeup training by assisting under a master Australian international makeup artist. She’s continuously taking classes to keep her skills fresh and recently finished a beauty master course under Scott Barnes the makeup artist who created the famous “Glow” for Jennifer Lopez. With over 8 years of professional experience she has worked with a variety of skin tones, and hair textures. Kyana has had the pleasure of working with magazine publications like Harpers Bazaar Bride, Harpers Bazaar, Grazia, Cosmopolitan, Maxim, Noblesse, Femina, and Elements. During her time in India, she’s had the honour of working with top photographers like Dabboo Ratani, Prasad Naik, Subi Samuel, Rohan Shreshtra, Erickos Andreou, Taras Taraporvala, and Colston D’Souza. Her diverse knowledge, and training she is confident she will be able to provide the perfect look suitable for your needs.
